Our environmental crisis is the most pressing and wide-reaching issue of our time.

SMART ALEC is in the process of developing model legislation to protect Mother Earth and, most importantly, ourselves, from the devastating impacts of climate change, air pollution, water pollution, and other environmental disasters.

As a preliminary matter, we are proposing that all jurisdictions take the following two steps:

• Declaration of Climate Emergency
• Creation of Legislative Emergency Committee on the Environment

SMART ALEC’s CEO and Board Chair, Matthew Charles Cardinale, is currently completing an advanced law degree (LLM) in Environmental Law at Vermont Law School, to support this work going forward.
