SMART ALEC Co-founders Present Sample Affordable Housing Impact Statement to Multnomah County

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, SMART ALEC co-founders Matthew Charles Cardinale and Barbara Payne presented a sample Affordable Housing Impact Statement to the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners.

Chairwoman Deborah Khafoury’s office has been researching the possibility of adopting such Impact Statements for Multnomah County.

With the current Fiscal Year Budget for 2017 currently under consideration, including a $3.3 million proposed allocation for affordable housing units, the sample Affordable Housing Impact Statement shows how the budget decision would impact the housing stock of Multnomah County – specifically, by adding 84 units at 30 to 50 percent of the Area Median Income.
