Progress in New Orleans on Affordable Housing Impact Statements

Great work, New Orleans!  We can’t wait to come visit y’all for the deliberations!

The City Council of New Orleans has included Affordable Housing Impact Statements as the primary component of its affordable housing policy request to the City’s Planning Department, according to this recent article in the New Orleans Advocate:

As introduced, the New Orleans legislation uses the SMART ALEC Model Ordinance, although they’ve expanded it to include not only legislative decisions by the City Council, but also development decisions that come into the City administratively.

Earlier this year, Housing New Orleans included advocating for the adoption of Affordable Housing Impact Statements in their 2016 Action Plan.
